Every one has desires, and many of these desires are material. A child wants a new toy, and a middle aged child wants a much more expensive toy. Even perfectly normal people wants material objects. Think, a potential wife may brag about her 14ct. engagement ring, however, would not be as proud if it was only 5ct. The man may not love her any less, but there is still a material desire.
